Winner: One For All Kameleon 6 Universal Remote Control

The Kameleon 6 is like no other remote control on the market. It takes its name from an ability to change its appearance according to the selected mode, illuminating only those keys that are relevant. The entire face of it is an illuminated touch-pad which is activated whenever you pick up the remote. The illumination turns off after 10sec of inactivity.

At the top of the pad are icons for the six main devices (TV, VCR, DVD, digibox/PVR, amplifier and CD). For each device the Kameleon adopts the guise of your average remote control, offering most common functions. Where necessary, a scroll button provides secondary screens.

The most unusual icon is the Magic button. This is used for programming the remote, which is the most tedious part of owning a universal remote. The manual provides the set-up codes for hundreds of AV products, listed by brand and device. Any not listed can be manually entered.

Once you've cracked the codes, this is an excellent device. Sky+ owners will relish a universal remote that caters for their needs.

The Kameleon 6 is even future-proof as new codes can be downloaded from the internet using your PC's speakers. Truly inspired.
