The 6 Kameleon is one of the oddest-looking controllers here,
but considering One For All's vast experience in producing
affordable universal remotes, we're willing to give it a
go.
The Good: This relatively cheap remote can control up to
six devices, and can be updated either by entering codes from a manual,
which is comprehensive,
or by downloading them from the Internet and then using your
PC speakers to send these sonic encryptions to the controller.
We also like the way it lights up when you move it.
The Bad: The looks certainly won't be to everyone's taste,
and the odd sensation when you push in the soft screen takes some getting
used to as well. It's also pretty large and heavy, and despite
costing £20 more than the Cambridge Audio remote, it controls two
fewer devices.
The Verdict: If you like the look of this controller
- or are one of those people who just can't resist the 'electro-luminous'
gimmick - then it's a good buy. Otherwise, it's a bit cumbersome,
and you can find yourself a better remote for less outlay.
